Formal Apology is an accessories label built around a single principle: that the most interesting things are the ones that require a second look. We do not make collections. We do not follow seasons. We identify one object worth making, and we make it correctly.

The Approach

Every product in the Formal Apology catalog begins with a question: what would this look like if it were taken completely seriously?

The answer is always the same. Proper materials. Considered construction. Packaging that justifies the object inside it. And a detail — somewhere — that the right person will notice.

The Catalog

We are currently producing Gesture No. 1. It is a belt buckle. It has a detail we will not be discussing here either.

Future objects are in development. They will be announced when they are ready. They will not be announced early, and there will be no waitlist.
